Post date: June 28, 2009

I just thought I would cover it all!

GREAT BLESSINGS:  The Life House Praise Team and me helped in a revival meeting this past week at Rock Creek Baptist Church near Maud, Texas.  The Lord blessed in a great way with one saved and one added by letter to their church family.  Life House was blessed to see five saved (four during the revival) in the past week and it looks like we now have eight awaiting baptism (possibly 9).  God has been good to us and there is more to come!

NEW TIME:  Starting NEXT SUNDAY, July 5 our worship service time will be changed from 10:30 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. and the Life House Coffee Shop will open at 9:1o a.m. instead of 9:45.  Be aware of the change, share it with your friends and give them John 10:10 too!  Be present and expect God to show up and out!!

VBS:  Our second VBS at Life House is July 6-10 , 6:30 – 8:15 p.m. each night. Children 3yrs old to 6th grade) are invited to come join us for a great time. Invite your friends, neighbors and your neighbors friends too!!  It’s gonna be great!!

PRAYFOR:  the mission team from Morton, Mississippi that will be coming to help us during the VBS.  Pray for their safety in travel and God to bless them for coming to bless the mission work in College Hill.

That’s all for now!  Guess i’m gonna go chill and rest as we’ve spent the weekend putting down new laminate floor throughout the house. Thanks to our family and friends it’s gone really fast!!

Blessings on you — Pastor James

Revival BEFORE The Revival! Day 3 – Rock Creek Revival

Post date: June 26, 2009

The Life House Family and me really had a great time with the Rock Creek Baptist Church Family (Maud, Texas) and Pastor Steve & Tami Minter. This church is full of loving, excited people who love Jesus, love souls and desire to grow the Kingdom for Jesus.  The last night of the revival – Life House had two saved BEFORE we even left on the church van to head for the revival meeting and then during the revival altar call – two MORE of our teens gave their heart to Jesus!!  All in all we had five saved last week!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!!  GLORY!!!!   What a time we had last week!!  We are excited about all that God is doing at Rock Creek and at Life House!  We look forward to hosting a “JOINT WORSHIP SERVICE” with Rock Creek some Sunday Night in the very near future and letting Bro. Steve preach for us.  Keep praying that we can see even more people saved in the very near future at Life House and that we will continue to grow for HIM.  God has been soooooooo good to us – we just can’t praise Him enough!!!  Pastor James

Rock Creek Revival Day #2

Post date: June 24, 2009

Last night was the second night of our revival effort with Rock Creek Baptist Church near Maud, Texas.  The night started with the devil attacking the computer system and us being unable to use the screen and have words for the music.  Little did the devil know that the service would go on and we would have a great time of worship!  God’s people, white and black – two churches with a love for Jesus sang together, prayed together and sought God together. The praises went up and the glory came down! The Lord blessed during the night with several in the altar, several re-dedications, one man coming forward to admit that he was finally able to forgive someone that he had hated for 40 years and also had one added to the membership of the church!  It was a great night!  We can’t wait till tonight – who knows what the Lord is gonna do!  Hope to see you there!!    Pastor James

Revival Update….

Post date: June 22, 2009

The first revival service tonight at Rock Creek Church was AWESOME!  The people at Rock Creek are very friendly and excited about all that God is doing in their church.  They have had 80 additions to their church family since December and they continue to grow seemingly every week. Pastor Steve Minter and family are doing a great job in leading this church to greater growth.   It was so good to see Life House praise team lead out in the services tonight. It was good for them as it allowed them to “get out of their comfort zone”.  When we get out of our comfort zone we begin to rely on the Lord even more than ever and we grow in our faith and in our gifts.  Thanks Rock Creek Family for allowing us to lead out in worship and allowing me to preach your revival meeting. We look forward to tomorrow night and Wednesday night as well.   We were excited to see folks moving to the altar and even had one man saved in the service tonight. GLORY!!!!    Then we ended the night with the ladies of RCC feeding the Life House Team (and a couple of guests) supper. THANKS!  It was GREAT!    Pray for the meeting, come if you get a chance, pray if you will and know we are expecting Jesus to “show up and show out” at Rock Creek tomorrow night.  See you at 7 p.m.!!                                                                                    Pastor James

Mississippi Mission Trip News…And Sunday Blessings Too!

Post date: June 21, 2009

We pulled back into Texarkana last night with 25 tired but happy missionaries!  In about 36 hours we traveled 795 miles.  It was exciting for me to see us take a group of believers to Jackson, MS to help them with a couple of outreach events that they had scheduled for this past weekend.  Life House is a mission and if I have anything to do with it evangelism and outreach will be deeply planted in the DNA of this church.   Thanks Raymond Road Family for your hospitality, partnership and friendship! We look forward to seeing you all near the end of July for your youth mission trip to Life House. Thanks also to the adults who made the trip with us. It’s a joy to have adults you can count on to go the extra mile (in this case – literally) and who can be counted on when it comes to doing the work of the ministry.  There is NO WAY that I as pastor would ever be able to accomplish all that has been done at Life House and in the ministry in the community if it weren’t for members/friends who are dedicated and faithful.  Thanks team!

Just a word of praise!!    The Lord showed up at Life House today as we gathered to worship Him.  We thank Him for saving another soul!  He is so good to us – MUCH MUCH better to us than we are ever to Him.  It’s our prayer that He will do it again soon !!

In A Few Short Hours…

Post date: June 18, 2009

…our house will be flooded with guests!   It looks like 10 – 15 people will be coming to our home to spend the night so that they will be able to be “up and ready” to hit the road at 4:00 a.m. Friday morning for the mission trip. It’s gonna be a wild night!!  We’ve not promised beds for everyone but we have said – come if you want, grab a couch, love seat, chair, floor space or whatever.  All are welcome – you just can’t have MY bed LOL!  Hey – I gotta help out with the driving and I NEED my beauty sleep!  LOL    Anyways it looks like most of the teens and some adults are coming to our house late this evening and hopefully at a decent hour we will be able to “hit the hay” and get a little rest. We are gonna need it!!  Better go for now – much to do before “COMPANY” gets here LOL — Pray for us and i’ll keep you posted along the “mission trail highway”.    Pastor James

YOU ARE INVITED…

Post date: June 18, 2009

Starting Monday night at 7 p.m. – I will be in revival with Rock Creek Baptist Church near Maud, Texas.  Life House Praise Band will be leading the music.  Pastor Steve Minter and the entire church family at Rock Creek would love to have you join us for one of the services Monday through Wednesday nights.  This church is already experiencing revival – they have had 80 additions to their church since December.  They have outgrown their auditorium and have set up a worship center in their gym.  God is moving at Rock Creek and we can’t wait to be a part of it!!  If you live in the Maud area and are searching for a church home – visit Rock Creek – you will be glad you did!   Souls are being saved, folks are being baptized and the Word of God is being preached – does it get any better than that?   I’m excited to serve as their evangelist and have the blessing of working with our praise band this week.  If you can’t come to the revival services would you at least stop every day and pray for us?  THANKS!   Pastor James

COMING in JULY – 10:10

Post date: June 17, 2009

When Life House Church began our verse that compels us to reach our community is John 10:10.   In John 10:10 Jesus explains plainly to us the role of the thief:  kill, steal, destroy.  He also explains His role and desire:  life and have it to the full.   John 10:10 is in our lifeblood as a church.  We want to rescue people from what the enemy is doing to them – physically, emotionally and spiritually.  We want to rescue families, addicts, hurting, depressed. We believe with all our hearts that Jesus can give a NEW LIFE – here on earth and a ETERNAL LIFE for us when we go into eternity.   So…… in order to have even more opportunities to use that verse with those in our community and outside our church  – STARTING IN JULY OUR MORNING CELEBRATION WORSHIP SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT  10:10 a.m. – instead of 10:30.   AGAIN – our worship service on Sunday morning will begin at 10:10 a.m. starting July 5.   Start promoting it – share what the 10:10 really means and let’s use it to try to reach even more people for Jesus.

Gotta run – lots to do – little time to do it!  See you at “Safe Haven” this evening at 5:30!    Pastor James

LOOK OUT JACKSON (MS) HERE WE COME!!

Post date: June 17, 2009

Friday morning – 4 a.m. – (That’s RIGHT! – 4 a.m.)  the Life House Mission Team will be pulling out of Texarkana and headed to Jackson, Mississippi to help one of our Partner Churches, Raymond Road Baptist Church, in a big event at their church designed to reach out to the community around their church.  Many in our group have never been to Mississippi and this is a BIG adventure for them.  I can’t wait to tell them that “BOILED PEANUTS” is all that people in Mississippi eat and see their reaction.  Most have never heard of boiled peanuts and most would actually believe me LOL   This is going to be a trip full of fellowship, laughter, fun and most of all prayer, hopefully lots of work and a time to help us as a mission be on the “giving end” of missions.  One of the things we’ve sought to design in the DNA of Life House is outreach.  Missions is WHO we are and WHAT we do.  We BELIEVE in outreach and missions.  At the present, Life House gives 15% of ALL monies that come into our church BACK to missions.  EVERY DOLLAR that comes in – designated AND undesignated – we give 15% back to missions.  (We realize you cannot take away from designated monies - but we go ahead and give out of our undesignated funds the same amount to missions as if the designated funds were undesignated. – make sense? lol)   We believe that Jesus heartbeat is souls and for us to accomplish His mission, our commission, then we must seek to love, feed, touch, minister to and win souls to Him and for His kingdom.   Pray for us as we make this trip. It will be a short, overnight, quick trip but being our first it’s a good chance to see how our people will react and handle themselves on the “mission field”.   Just a word of warning to the residents of Jackson, MS -  look out – here we come!!!    I can’t wait!!   Pastor James

P.S.  Pray for our Raymond Road Baptist Church Family as they seek to impact their community and city. Pray for souls to be saved, folks to be brought into the church and for God to bless Raymond Road like never before!!
