About Us
THANKS FOR VISITING THE
LIFE HOUSE WEBSITE!
Life House is a church for all people regardless of their race, economic or educational status. It’s our desire to reach people with the love of Jesus. We want to feed, hug, love, share and touch people right where they are. We are REAL. No “put on’s” , no “religiosity” – just real people who have been touched by God’s grace loving others with Jesus love. We believe that the church should be living out the Matthew 25 principle – loving, clothing, feeding, visiting and caring. When you visit our church you will find people of all ages, colors and income brackets. We are not concerned with WHAT you have but rather WHO you have in your heart. Come visit with us and see for yourself a church that is REAL and full of LOVE for all people.

WHO ARE WE?
Life House is a multi-ethnic, economically diverse church established in 2008 for the purpose of knowing God and making Him known to all people. We are not a church focused simply on racial reconciliation. Rather, we are focused on reconciling men and women to God through faith in Jesus Christ and reconciling ourselves collectively to the pattern of the New Testament local church where everyone regardless of color, economic status or education are made one in Christ.
For years government and educational programs, together with the efforts of countless individuals, groups and agencies, have sought to eliminate prejudice and the disparaging consequences of institutional racism still deeply embedded within our society with little success. We must realize that true unity – a unity that respects and celebrates diversity – cannot be achieved apart from the establishment of churches which intentionally and joyfully reflect the passion of Christ for all people of the world.
It is not the institutions of government, nor of education throughout America that have been ordained by God to this task, but rather the local church, the bride of Christ; we, His people. Surely, it breaks the heart of God to see so many churches – in this city and throughout this country – segregated ethnically and/or economically from one another. Sadly little has changed in most churches in the fifty years since Martin Luther King observed that eleven o’clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated hour in the land. Brothers and sisters, it should not be so. That is why Life House Church seeks to reach all people – regardless of race, economic status or even educational status with the love of Jesus. All are welcome at Life House.

What It Means To Be A Member Of Life House…
Many churches are searching for members to join their church just for numbers sake. Life House desires for God to send us people who share our vision of racial equality and deep desire to see souls from every walk of life saved by Jesus. The members of our church share a common vision – to reach College Hill and the world for Jesus. To be a member of Life House isn’t just a “name on a church roll” type membership. To be a member of Life House you must prayerfully make some commitments. What are they?
When you join Life House you must be willing to commit to:
SPACE
1. Be faithful to worship services on Sunday.
2. Be faithful to attend a Life Group.
3. Be a working member of the church body.
4. Be a store house tither.
SPACE
Anyone can “join” a church but God’s people need to follow God’s leadership and direction and become a part of a church family that they share a vision, purpose and burden with. For more information about Life House feel free to contact our pastor.
We also have “New Member Info Class” the first Sunday afternoon of each month at 2:00 p.m. in our coffee shop. Feel free to come join us, learn about Life House, our beliefs, vision and future. No obligation to join – just come see for yourself what Life House is all about!!
( Note: Tithing is a matter of trust and faith between God and the member. No one
checks to see if you are tithing in order for you to remain a member. If one is
attending faithfully, growing in the Word and serving as he/she should then
more than likely they are being honest with God about their tithes)

WHAT WE BELIEVE
- WE EMBRACE the Bible as an owner’s manual for life. We encourage daily Scripture reading, reflection and memorization.
- WE EMBRACE the priesthood of all believers, the concept that every member is a minister, both in and outside the church, no matter their vocation.
- WE EMBRACE prayer and fasting as disciplines for Spirit-filled living, through which we recognize our daily dependence on the Holy Spirit to do what is right.
- WE EMBRACE tithing as a biblical standard and goal for all who would be mature in their faith.
- WE EMBRACE both baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the two ordinances for every believer.
- WE EMBRACE the responsibility to share our faith with others and to invite others to become part of our church.
- WE EMBRACE the unique privilege and responsibility we have been given by God to be a catalyst for change and to promote the vision of the multi-ethnic church – for the sake of the gospel – throughout North America and beyond.
(We totally support and subscribe to the “Baptist Faith and Message 2000” of the Southern Baptist Convention.)
