With the latest tragedy in Orlando, Florida it seems to me that Americans should be pulling together like never before. Instead, there seems to be some that are using this horrific event to further their own personal agendas. This my friend is WRONG. Shame on anyone who seeks to make this about anything other than what it really is – a terrible tragedy of innocent Americans having their blood spilled for NO REASON.
Whether you agree or disagree with the victims lifestyle, hurts, habits, hang-ups, or whatever – it’s not about that! This is not a straight vs gay issue, it’s not a democrat vs republican issue, it’s not being red, yellow, black or white. This is not a moral vs immoral issue. THIS IS ABOUT Americans who were minding their own business, living their lives and someone with a deep, dark heart of hate coming in and killing and wounding innocent people. Each person killed or wounded is someone’s baby. Each person killed or wounded was loved by someone. They were someone’s uncle, aunt, brother, sister, friend, spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend or parent. Each of those people were loved by God. Maybe, just maybe you don’t agree with them going clubbing. Maybe you don’t agree with the homosexual life they were living (and truth be told not everyone there was homosexual). Maybe you don’t agree on several issues. JUST STOP AND THINK — this could have been in our city. This could have been someone we love. This could have been a horrible night for us. There is no time for judging, dividing and seeking to use this tragic event to further anyone’s personal agenda. EVERYONE has a right to their own beliefs and life. There is no one perfect. The last time I read the story of the adulterous woman that was brought before Jesus to be stoned, I remember Jesus giving the only criteria for throwing rocks…. HE THAT IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE. So if you wanna divide, cast rocks and be judgmental — go right ahead —– but make sure you are perfect first. No I am not excusing or condoning anyone’s sin – it’s about LOVE. GOD IS LOVE. How can you say that you love a God that you have never seen and you can’t even love a brother or sister that you have seen? As some in our church say, “SPLAIN THAT TO ME”!!.
May God bless America and protect her too! Pastor James
